THE BACK STORY
“So much of who we are is where we have been.”
― William Langewiesche

They Teach the Way We Learn
The Gregory School for Exceptional Learning opened in 2002 with a mandate to provide evidence-based Direct Instruction (DI) curricula for students with special needs. Initially Angeline's motivation for opening the school was very personal - to create a place for her son to thrive, Very soon in the school's existence, a high enrolment demand for students with autism resulted in a partnership with Catherine, who brought her expertise in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as a technology that encompasses DI along with Discrete Trial Teaching. In 2010, a move from Ancaster to Brant County triggered an expansion of the school's services to include a larger proportion of therapeutic clinical services and the birth of Kalyana Support Systems. In more recent years as Angeline and Catherine's combined expertise expanded, Kalyana has embraced Acceptance and Commitment Training and Skills-Based Treatment among our evidenced-based offerings, always within an ABA framework.

Our Educational Vision
Our mission is to provide evidence-based ABA treatment to help each child meet their full potential. We work to help families use their child's strengths to realize communication, social, learning, and life-skill goals. We strive to find ways to ensure the children are content throughout their experience with us and attain happiness in their lives.

Through our individualized ABA therapy and personalized programming, we aim to build a strong foundation in communication, behaviour, and learning skills, preparing children for a successful educational journey. Our goal is to empower every child to reach their full potential.
