Your experience toilet-training your child will depend a great deal on your particular child’s temperament, behaviour patterns, and any coexisting conditions. When children have special needs, accessing trained professionals can provide much needed assistance and support. The first step you must take is to determine whether your child is ready to begin.

Prior to intervention, families are asked to rule out any medical issues that may be contributing to issues with toilet training. Following medical consultation, intervention begins with an assessment of sleep problems.

Intervention plans are individualized and are developed in conjunction with parents. The program is deigned to be administered by caregivers. Training and support is provided throughout the intervention.

An individualized plan is developed in conjunction with parents to ensure maintenance of acquired skills.
