Instructor Therapist 

What education you will have

- (ideally) a university degree

- (ideally) course work in ABA, child development, or similar

What experience you will have

- (necessary) working with students with learning or behavioural needs

- (ideally) working as a behaviour therapist, instructor therapist or similar 

What skills you will have

- an engaging personality

- attentiveness to detail

- an interest in using data to inform your decisions

- the ability to work collaboratively

 

What you will do

- work with other dedicated professionals to teach young students with autism skills that will help change the trajectory of their learning

- spend time engaged with children, facilitating their communication, social and play skills, and independence

- implement behaviour support plans as part of team

- learn and use evidence-based teaching methods

What you will love

- varied clients and daily activities

- the support of other wonderful instructors, case managers and behaviour analysts

- diverse opportunities such as parent coaching, sleep training, home and school support, and team leadership

-  to be encouraged and supported to obtain training and maintain certifications (e.g., RBT®️)

 

Other details

-  Most sessions occur in our clinic sessions; some clients receive in-home or in-community support.

- You will receive an employment contract, renewable annually, with a starting hourly wage ranging from $17/hour - $22/hour.
