PARENT TRAINING and COACHING via TELEHEALTH
As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, helping parents ensure that their children do not lose skills and giving them tools to help manage problem behaviour is more important than ever. In these challenging times, Telehealth services have become an invaluable tool to support children and families.
Telehealth provides an ideal platform for parent training and coaching. Thorough video conferencing, we are able to see and understand a child's interactions and behaviour in real time. It enables us to provide training that meets the unique needs of individual families and to provide immediate feedback and coaching.
One of our behaviour analysts will work with you to assess your child's skills and select the most appropriate goals. We will train you to collect information on your child's performance and strategies for teaching them skills in your home. We can be present for some or all teaching sessions via Telehealth to give you the level of support you need. Examples of skills we can help with include: language and communication skills and self-help skills such as toilet training.
One of our behaviour analysts can also work with you to determine the parameters surrounding any problem behaviour and select strategies to reduce the frequency and/or duration of the behaviour. We will train you to collect information on your child's behaviour and strategies for teaching them alternatives to replace the problem behaviour. We will use Telehealth to give you the level of support you need. Examples of behaviour we can help you reduce include: aggression, non-compliance, and sleep difficulties.

For many students, video sessions with a Kalyana instructor can work effectively to meet their learning needs.
One our behaviour analysts will work with you to assess your child's skills and select the most appropriate goals to be addressed through video sessions. Session length and frequency can be determined to suit your child's needs and your schedule. Examples of goals addressed through video conference include: language developing, learning readiness skills and academic skills.
